Less Little Friday
Got in a great F1 Miami race with EBJ this morning (let’s ignore the three aborted attempts). Second as I couldn’t close with him on the final straight, bad exits saw him cruising away from me every time. But, I’ll happily take a clean race.
Delightful glut of racing this weekend between F1 (Jeddah) and WRC (Mexico). My prediction for Jeddah is Checo in first, Alonso in second, and Max DNF :) Looking forward to quali tomorrow.
…Little Friday
Today is truly a little Friday as we have a day off at Regard tomorrow.
Frankly terrible round of sim-racing with EBJ, at least performance-wise. That being said, was a great time, though, starting off from 1 / 2 to sling around the great Miami parking lot. It was the crashing (and, to be fair, some weird tire bugs) that done messed our game up.
I’m taking off on Sunday, leaving me Friday and Saturday to get on top of the week and hang out with CEO. That looks like:
…Powered Down Uvas
The power is still out from yesterday’s tree-toppling gusts, and I’m fittingly low-energy. Work has been a series of mind numbing security reviews, I’m certain ChatGPT would do a better job than me. But, can’t trust the robits. So, I answer the same questions yet again that IT won’t even read.
Third partner security / supply-chain security is broken in its current incarnation for both the assessor & the assessed. It should be a simple machine-assessable procedure, but each corporation has its own idiosyncratic standards. Auditing companies and theird-aprty databases are one path to a solution, but has led to an even more fractal ecosystem as opposed to an accessible solution. /rant
…Wind-blown Uvas
Windiest day I’ve experienced on Uvas – gusts must’ve been 50mph+. On the downside this means that Morgan Hill is out of power, our garage-side fence was blown to pieces, and the metal dragon was slain.
Kept up with lifting; incremental improvements continue. Moved chest and tri’s to follow shoulders – worked better than following it with back and bi’s. I need more weight to lower the reps next set. Next two weeks will be in LA, so I’ll need to adapt this for a bar vs dumbbell. Good variety / cross-training.
…The 11th Week of the Year
Freshly sore in the legs from basketball yesterday, so went to the opposite side of the body with the shoulders. Progress still feels solid, and I think I’m just about at last year’s should press max.

Got in a round of F1 racing at Imola with EBJ today – lowering assists threw off EBJ’s game, but I landed first off a quarter length race of 14 laps. Lost a ton of time coming into the pits, but avoided the speeding-in-the-pits penalty was able to keep 2s ahead of Checo (#2). AI is at 51, we can definitely move up a ways. Worst enemy isn’t the others, its clearly our own mistakes.
