My 2025 Principles

Posted on Jul 11, 2025

A list in progress of principles I aim to live:

  • What I need isn’t the same as what you need.
  • Practice makes hard things easy. The hard part is practice.
  • Tight control can cost fault tolerance.
  • Skin care, weight lifting, and cardio are for everyone.
  • Embodied experience is your unassailable privilege.
  • There’s no cure to aging, so give space for grace.
  • It’s often easy to see aberrations in others’ perspective, but not in yourself. Get feedback.
  • It’s often easy to find ungrounded fault in yourself. Get feedback.
  • If you’re feeling defensive to feedback, take the time to process and return to it.
  • It’s not a contradiction for someone to be both good-intentioned and not care about you.
  • People want to connect, to interface.
  • Clear communication seems to solve most problems, but you’re probably doing it wrong.
  • Similarly, listening well isn’t trivial.
  • Figure out how to truly relax, and then let me know the secret.
  • Given space and attention, consumption can be the stuff of creativity.
