My 2025 Principles
A list in progress of principles I aim to live:
- What I need isn’t the same as what you need.
- Practice makes hard things easy. The hard part is practice.
- Tight control can cost fault tolerance.
- Skin care, weight lifting, and cardio are for everyone.
- Embodied experience is your unassailable privilege.
- There’s no cure to aging, so give space for grace.
- It’s often easy to see aberrations in others’ perspective, but not in yourself. Get feedback.
- It’s often easy to find ungrounded fault in yourself. Get feedback.
- If you’re feeling defensive to feedback, take the time to process and return to it.
- It’s not a contradiction for someone to be both good-intentioned and not care about you.
- People want to connect, to interface.
- Clear communication seems to solve most problems, but you’re probably doing it wrong.
- Similarly, listening well isn’t trivial.
- Figure out how to truly relax, and then let me know the secret.
- Given space and attention, consumption can be the stuff of creativity.
