Where am I journaling and where am I logging?

If you’re reading this online, you might not realize that this text primarily exists within a single long org document, a dump of bits and bobs. The org file is somewhat incidentally posted to the internet via ox-hugo, and there’s even a lot of unpublished content I just keep as notes. This god-file initially didn’t distinguish between my journal as well as a daily log. Over time though, they separated. And then I started using Obsidian.

Now, CEO and I use Obsidian as a middle-ground for document organization. I have daily log files populated from a generic template that I can use to keep focus, and I’ve been back to interleaving my journal in that log. That’s the reason for the gap since late Nov – I’ve still been journaling, just not in the old org doc. I do like Emacs, and these journal entries are for me, so bringing it back.

With the separation between log / journal there should be less noise like exercise records: to obsidian with them. Finally, I’ll back-fill entries since the Nov post where appropriate; it’s mostly been notes on LLMs as I immerse myself in the space. Theme on.
