Cozumel: I do not Tri

Helped out / got in the way of OY and LT’s ironman preparation. Running bags have been delivered, bikes tuned and dropped off. I do not tri, but they do tomorrow. I’m endlessly amazed that they’re going to pull this race off. Here’s to the grand sloggers!

Tomorrow CEO and I will track them on the ironman app, cheer them on, and appreciate the extent of human athleticism.

Drivetrain Lube Lessons: First Wax

I’ve gotten some learnings in from my first bike waxing!

Backstory: on the way out I waxed up my chain rather scrubbing / applying a liquid lubricant as I’d always done. The wet conditions have proven a harsh test, and CEO’s wet-lubed chain serves as a “control case”.

Today I’ll wet lube the gear up a bit more to protect from the rusting – it’s humid and rainy and the chain gets thirsty. Impressively the wax chained was only exposed in some places, likely where I didn’t do a great job waxing the chain. Gotta dip better.

LLMs and the Fun Prototype (Starforged?!)

Independent of Altman, I’d been thinking about building on OpenAI’s GPT’s platform. My rough plan is to 1) complete a fun prototype, 2) complete a useful prototype, 3) test the market.

My gut is that the “fun prototype” should be a starforged game master. CEO and I had one run us through the start of a star-trek scenario. Twas fun, tho needed some way to iterate.
