Left Regard
I left my role at Regard Aug 18th, near a month ago. I’m super excited to see what Regard works up, but eight years after co-founding it I need to spend some solid time with family.
Return of Training Log
Beyond family and friends, Caitria and I have soaked up much of the extra time exercising. Which brings me back to posting, as I need a training log again. There are a couple immediate goals:
- prepare for Cozumel Gran Fondo and learn cycling endurance training
- understand if strength training has plateaued (prolly) and break through
- reflect more on the progression and current feels
Training Standup
Note to self: figure out a better format for this. In the meantime…
Endurance-wise, today was base aerobic, got in almost three hours cycling with my heart in “zone 2” along Coyote linked up with Santa Teresa. Rode with my new tubeless slicks, the Specialized Grand Prix 5000, and saw my speed go up for the same watts. Plus less flats. TFG.
Strength-wise, today was back & biceps and it was rough. I lifted well under target across the board, e.g. 7 / 10 pull ups while at max-ish RPE. Possible reasons for underperforming:
- I lifted first thing in the morning before eating
- I might have been full-body fatigued from the Mt Madonna 10K
Tomorrow I’ll lift core II and run sprint intervals with Caitria up the Calero hills.
